2024 IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!

Dear Members,

It’s time to get excited!  On or about the first week of January 2024, you can expect to see the installation of a brand new line of Life Fitness cardio machines, including 24” monitors on eight new treadmills, a new stepmill and an upright bike.  These monitors will enable you to access over 500 on-demand classes, Netflix or any of your preferred streaming services. In addition, get ready for 18 brand new Indoor Cycle Group (IC7) bikes that combine a modern design with an extended range of top features.  Sign up for weekly HIIT Zone classes-a specialized space located in our lower level fitness area, featuring the Tire Flip (perform over 100 moves in a 4’ space), Sled Mill (a total body workout that improves strength, stamina speed and power), Sparc (lower body strength machine-build speed & power) and Sprint Lane allowing you to train like a pro.  Also keep an eye out in 2024 for extended Sunday hours, our new app YMCA360, an on-demand video platform for our Y community and enhancements to our onsite summer camp grounds!

None of this would have been possible if not for your support and the good things that happened in 2023.  Here’s a brief recap:    We are now serving over 11,000 members of our community through Y memberships, swim lessons, before and afterschool care, family events, and rehabilitative training.  We are just beginning the second year of EGYM and the data is showing that the associated strength gains have never been higher.  We have finally been able to return to in-house staff for our custodial/building and grounds needs resulting in cleaner, safer facilities, better attention to detail and more employment opportunities than ever before.  Our steam room has been completely renovated, and we are currently working with an aquatic engineering firm to update our pools and aquatic infrastructure.  We have upgraded electrical, heating and plumbing throughout both buildings.  Our brand new roof now allows us to have ongoing conversations in regard to solar power and energy efficiency making our Y a much greener facility.

Hopefully you have taken advantage of the over 15 free community health educational seminars and screenings that have been offered this year, such as free blood pressure screenings, understanding Autism presentation and most recently our 3 hour “watch party” event for Veterans with Parkinson’s Disease.

This past September, the Y held its first annual golf outing in over two decades.  Thanks to the generosity of 66 golfers and more than 30 sponsors, the Y was able to raise over $33k.  This funding will go directly to those who are unable to afford the much-needed services that our Y provides.  At the Y,  we believe that everyone is entitled to the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, regardless of their ability to pay.

And back by popular demand, you can once again expect to take advantage of our Black Friday membership promotion, beginning 11/24/23. Save 25% on any annual membership before rates increase in 2024. Sale ends 12/8/23. This opportunity comes along once a year so don’t delay.

Thank you for your ongoing support of this organization.  It’s our members and staff that make this a great place to socialize, workout, relax and enjoy.  I look forward to the new year and all that it may hold.

The Y: We’re for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
